Fatal Factions: April 2024 Updates

Hello everyone, and welcome to another monthly update! It's been another busy month, so let's go ahead and get into some updates as well as some great news for the Fatal Factions universe.

Fatal Factions: Guild Wars

We'll first go into some smaller updates for our biggest game. In Fatal Factions: Guild Wars, I had received some feedback about the wordiness of some of the cards as well as a few balance issues, mainly with the Conjurers from The Ascendead. To combat this, there have been a few changes with conjuration as well as some ease of use updates for the Tabletop Simulator version of Fatal Factions: Guild Wars:

-All Conjure summons have been buffed.

-A few buffs have also been given to the following cards as well:

-The "Turn Phases" helper card has been updated and added to all boards.

-The Reverse side ofthe helper card has been updated with "Battle Interactions" which show the only battle interactions that result in the defender not returning damage.

-Default decks for PVP have been updated to only include Ajai's Chi Master deck to keep learners to an easier option with an easily seen way of playing while still also giving unique combinations.

-The PVP board has a Learner's Deck that is played in a specific order to show players that are new to card games how to play the game and how each card type operates.

-The PVP board has been updated with almost every single card in the game, minus a few that must be unlocked. The other boards have had the default decks removed.

-Every Guild card in the game has been updated with Hover Descriptions that will tell you the details of Keyword Abilities, Status Effects and States when you hover over the card for about 1 second. Dice and tokens also have this live. Because of this update, this reduces the text of many cards drastically and will make them easier to parse for experienced players and also allow new players to understand how keywords and abilities work.  It is also easier to search for a card when performing the Search function in Tabletop Simulator.

I hope you enjoy the updates made to the game!

Now, let's move on to the next section of news. I would like to introduce the next game in the Fatal Factions universe,

Fatal Factions: Evolution!

Fatal Factions: Evolution is a board game where you play as a fighter in a Sci-Fantasy setting. You utilize the same class-favoring mechanics from all of the other Fatal Factions games in 1v1, 2v2 or Free-For-All game modes.

Let's talk about a few key points about Fatal Factions: Evolution:

-It's a fun fighting game in a board game! Ever thought you would play the RPG version of Super Smash Bros? Neither did we!

-It's a Sci-fantasy mix-up! Sure you have your magic and swords, but you also get body-enhancing drugs, exploding drones, empowered fields and powerful items.

-Another game with class! Choose your favorite classes like the Berzerker, Mage, Monk or Psychic. More classes to come soon!

-Select your variant! Utilize flaming slashes and build up Shield with your Mage's Battlemage variant or charge up some powerful spells with the Mage's Caster variant. Every class has 2 variants and both variants can use the same cards, so try them all out!

-One-of-a-kind deck creation. You get to make two decks the way you want. Want to have one offensive deck and another deck focused on defense? Or maybe you prefer one deck that focuses on moving your fighter while another one focuses on pushing your opponents? Build your 2 decks the way you want and draw from whichever deck fits your current situation.

-Turn up the Heat! As you are targeted by your opponent's cards or use special abilities, you gain Heat which can be used to power up ANY card that you have. If you're a fan of big moves, you can gather your Heat to pull of a Heat Break which allows your Fighter to perform their ultimate move.

This leads us to another announcement: You can now join the Fatal Factions discord to try out this game yourself! Join us at our discord to see Fighter spotlights and check out how the game plays! Vote on the class you would like join the battle and discuss what you would like to see in this arena-based fighting game!

Fatal Factions: Evolution will be coming to Tabletop Simulator soon! I hope you get to join us as we try the game out and get it ready for everyone to play. Also, don't forget to try out the Guild Wars playstyle quiz and the Guild Wars personality quiz - you just might be surprised by what you get!

Thank you for joining us in this month's update. We'll talk again soon!
