Hello everyone! Brandon here, giving you an update on where we're at so far in our plans for Fatal Factions.
First, I'd like to make an update on the blog itself. We are moving away from a weekly blog to a monthly one. We feel that the blog will be much more impactful and not as intrusive on your e-mails if we follow this format. Originally, we wanted to do weekly ones to dig into each aspect of the game, but decided it may be information overload. There are new players, but most people aren't intimately familiar with the cards enough to want to know about each and every aspect of them. That may come later!
We also understand that we have quite a few games - We have made 5 games (4 of them card games) over the past 3 years with over 3,000 cards spanning the Fatal Factions universe. By the time we would even get through a hundred of them, a new game or expansion would probably pop up! However, we're more than open to suggestions - if there is interest in certain guilds or card insights, please let us know!
Let's move on to the actual subject of our blog, which will focus on our progress so far. In our most recent blog, we talked about plans for Fatal Factions in 2024 which included new games on the horizon. In the past few weeks, we've made Fatal Factions: Beatdown and Fatal Factions: The Great Divide live and available for play on Tabletop Simulator. Even though we anticipated that Fatal Factions: Guild Wars updates would take much longer, we had also completed all frame and verbiage updates for all cards while also updating the core 8 guilds utilizing a "usefulness" balancing system to make sure each card has its proper impact. Since the core 8 are the oldest, there are quite a few buffs now in place. Some cards have also been appropriated to fit a keyword instead of sitting on neutral ground.
So, it looks like we've completed our new years resolution quite early. What will be the next steps? First, I'd like to announce that we are currently creating a new game for the Fatal Factions universe of games. It is currently called "Project Evolution" and will take place far in the future of the Amoan timeline, blending science fiction into fantasy. This "sci-fantasy" game will utilize the classes you love and enjoy, but will put them into a futuristic setting where they will battle in arenas. These arenas have dangerous traps and helpful items to empower its fighters. Using actions and futuristic tools, you'll be pitting up one fighter against another. The game will be 2-4 players and will include 1v1, Free-For-All and 2v2 modes. We will have more details on Project Evolution soon!
I will announce that our new game may be the last game created for the Fatal Factions universe. This doesn't mean that other games will not be created in other areas, but 6 games definitely rounds out the Fatal Factions set of games very nicely. This also doesn't mean that the current games won't be worked on - As it currently stands, we have 2 more guilds coming to Fatal Factions: Guild Wars (including one from the creator of the custom guild, The Winter's Grasp). Fatal Factions: Tempo is also currently the most popular Fatal Factions game, so there is a big chance some more actions, locations and possibly a new mercenary will show up there as well!
Thank you for checking out our blog for this month. I am looking forward to seeing you all on the battlefield! We'll catch you in next month's blog. Take care!
